Still on my original TICKR I've been using since 2017, well over 3000 hours of moving time (plus non-moving time). One strap replacement only in that time.

My 4iiii heart rate strap is surviving despite my best attempts at killing it with very salty sweat. No ticker lasted more than 6 months.

My gen 1 tickr lasted 4 years! Gen 2 6 months😡

Hr straps will ALWAYS die, so they should be as cheap as possible. This one is over double the price of the previous gen. Rechargeable battery is pointless when it inevitably dies after a year.

Open the battery door and remove battery, fill it with WD 40 drain out the excess and you’re good to go for another 6 months. Do this every six months. Clean the sweat out of the snaps regularly and a ticker will last years.

Does this work with the non camera version of the radar?

I just ordered the zwift ride. Do you know if it is possible to mount toe clips on the pedals that comes with the bike? To be used by several persons who doesn't have bike shoes 😂

Where Do i get the Adapter in 2024?

I’ve done every climb portal route released so far until this month’s climb the col de la couillole…I just can’t seem to find the motivation to slog up these long climbs, there’s no in game reward for doing it. If you got badges or something it would be more motivating but they don’t even show as completed routes.

I'd love to see improvements in Workout screen on Edge 1050... this would be one thing to convince me to spend a lot of money (again....). In E1040 it's pathetic, designed by somebody who apparently is not training with power -- crucial information too small, yet a lot of wasted space.

My Polar H10 strap lasted 4 years. The unit still going though with the new strap. And it's cheaper than this Wahoo, with Wahoo's track record, why would anyone go for it.

I have killed many H10 straps. Expensive and don't last long at all.

My prediction is everyone cancelling zwift atm but come deep winter they can’t resist coming back.

Shane good afternoon from the United States on Zwift since Dec 2023 . Can you check out Road To Sky , one of my favorite courses to climb around 609 M but the last 3 or 4 rides no showing of any switch backs from 21 to 1 . It does not show what your time was for any switch back . Thanks

Wouldn't it be great if Zwift partnered with a "real" TDF rider, polka dot jersey contender🙏, and were able to take their real-world metrics on each climb and plug them into a robo-pacer so you could test yourself against a pro, and actually see just how hard these guys go up these climbs?🤔

Hi I updated my 1040 to the latest beta F/W with the elevation fix went on a hilly ride it appeared to be quite responsive unlike before. When you carried out your comparison on the video showing the 1040 as having a bit of a lag was that on the new beta F/W ? Mine looked ok today..

Thanks for the update recap! I am still really hoping we will see the climb portal tech reused for "magic roads" inspired by real routes or segments some day inspired by the tours. I am not a climbs guy but some fresh simulated roads could be fun. Or some fake roads that represent a workout would be equally interesting. I think they could really run with both and brand and theme them appropriately.

On Beta Firmware, but the screen recording option is not showing. (newest beta 23.09 Edge 1040). Wanted to use as Virb Edit replacement. No longer available, or something else?

I can't wait for the new UI/Hud. The current one is really annoying and is in need of a major refresh.

My original tickr has done thousands of hours on zwift and keeps on going.

It's shite that Trainer Difficulty is still just a basic slider with no actual 1-100 range... Their whole HUD is so piss poor it's laughable....

I don't really like the design with the round edges. A killer feature for me would be to finally make the navigation arrow and line bigger...

I just got this, and my experience is that this product is suited for different environment than RT515. The radar is noticeably narrower and doesn't see much than adjacent lane. Could be not good for turns and bendy mountains, but I also notice it is detecting cars that are at a bit further away than loaner varia I had. Not 240m kind of futher away but still sensitive. I like the lights, bigger battery, and usb-c I can share with my remaining devices. Proprietary bontrager mount kinda sucks tho, needs some time surfing web to find compatible mount for non-Trek bikes and trunk bag clip.

How viable is it to use the Wahoo KICKER CORE Zwift One in non-Zwift environments? For the sake of this discussion I'm assuming you don't want to swap the Zwift cog with a n-gear cassette. Essentially you loose any shifting ability (i.e. you loose the virtual shifting because you aren't in Zwift and you loose the physical shifting because you have a one-gear cassette and don't have or aren't using a chainwheel shifter). Ignoring the resultant lack of 'realism' that no shifting causes -- is the granularity of remaining control from a pedaling-effort perspective adequate? Particularly...in RESISTANCE mode I believe you can set from 0-100% but in what granularity/effort levels will the trainer provide; is it in 1% increments or 10% or what? I guess I am asking how adequate the setup would perform relative to a gym club dumb resistance trainer that typically has somewhere from 20 to a 100 [sort of] linear flywheel resistance levels? This would also apply to, for example, the degree of control TrainerRoad could effect (same as it always could EXCEPT you are stuck in one gear).

Seems these updates have been made to make me regret pausing my zwift subscription over the summer 😂. Butin reality, it's currently 29c in my Wattage Cottage as I post this! Too hot for indoor cycling, especially the climb portal.

£79 for this model? Why? Because it has a chargeable battery? Get a pack of 8 2032 batteries from IKEA for a quid. I will stick to my battery model. Not worth double the old price Thanks as always for another excellent review❤
